The county town of Stafford lies between Wolverhampton and Stoke on Trent and is home to nearly 65,000 residents.

This charming market town has a large piazza-style main square around which many of Stafford's busiest shopping areas are centred. Many interesting independent retailers are on offer among the quaint narrow streets dotted with historic, wood-beamed buildings, and there are a plethora of excellent outdoor cafes and fine restaurants to choose from too.

The town's oldest building is St Chad's church, which dates back to the twelfth century and is richly adorned with extensive stone carvings outside and in. Within the walls of the church you will find interactive computer displays charting the history of St Chad's and surrounding area.

The beautiful Victoria Park is worth a visit with its tranquil riverside location, outdoor pool, aviaries and large greenhouses of exotic plants.
